NF SPORTS CLOSES THE 2019 FWT WITH PODIUMS CAPPING THEIR BEST WINTER SEASON TO DATE

Increase in drivers, podiums and representation inside NF Sports program

Closing the 2019 ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour on a high, Orlando, Florida based NF Sports ended their strongest winter season since their inception. Ending the 2019 program with another two podiums and a Vice Championship, plans are already underway for the 2020 winter karting season for the OTK/Kosmic Kart program.

In the talent filled ROK Junior class, Enrico De Lucca led the majority of the day’s main event, only to fall back to the second position in the final three laps. In a series long hard fought battle, De Lucca was often one of the fastest drivers on track and due to his speed, consistency and results, was crowned the Florida Winter Tour ROK Junior Vice Champion. Joining De Lucca in the Junior category was Bolivia’s Rodrigo Gutierrez who is a recent Rallycross Champion in his home land. Running just outside the top-ten through the heat races and into the main event, an unfortunate on track incident, no fault of his own, took him out of contention and relegated him to a 25th place result.

NF Sports second podium result of the weekend came from Team Co-Owner Bruno Fusaro. After being out of the seat for nearly six months as well as twenty years older than the eventual race winner, Fusaro was only a tenth of a second off the pace as he drove to a solid P2 performance in the ROK Master category showing the strength of the NF SPORTS/ OTK equipment. Fellow ROK Masters driver Camilo Rivera progressed nicely through the heat races and prefinal with four consistent finishes but did not score the result he deserved after being collected in an incident in the weekend’s main event.

Rafel Teran, in only his third appearance in the United States, ended his weekend with a 14th place effort. Close to the top-ten, Teran gained additional experience both on and off the track that will provide for better results later on in the 2019 season.

“I am really happy on how our Florida Winter Tour went and the expansion of our program,” explained Team Co-Owner Andre Nicastro. “We had more countries and more drivers represented in our program than ever before. We had more podium results than any other Florida Winter Tour in the past in both the main events and heat races, and we celebrated a successful partnership with D2 Motorsports from Brazil and KGT Motorsports from Italy.”

Looking forward in 2019, NF Sports will continue to push the ROK Cup USA program as they will compete in the ROK Fest, ROK the RIO and local ROK Cup events in the state of Florida. Interested in joining the NF Sports Race Team or purchasing gently used team equipment? Contact NF Sports today.
